What is Gear Shift

  Gear Shift is an 8-week immersion program delivered by Communities of Gladstone Supporting Youth (COGSY) in partnership with Gladstone State High School. Hosted at a live industrial site, this pilot initiative equips students with practical skills, industry exposure, and certified training – all in a real-world setting.

What is Included 

Construction White Card certification (accredited training) Site safety, teamwork, and job-readiness skills Supervised tool-based projects (woodwork, concrete, scaffolding) PPE provided (overalls, steel-capped boots, safety gear) Mentorship from qualified industry professionals Goal tracking and school reporting to support progress
